my best year yet
Reflecting on 2025
As the year comes to a close, I find myself slowing down in a way I don’t always allow during the busyness of session season (the fall months IYFYK). The quieter days invite reflection, on the people I met, the stories I was trusted with, and the growth that happened both behind the camera and within myself.
This past year was filled with moments that reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. Not just the beautiful light or perfectly timed smiles, but the in‑between moments: the belly laughs, the tiny hands wrapped around yours, the way families lean into one another without even realizing it. & I sam so grateful for every single one of you.
43 sessions, 43 stories I got to tell.
Every session brings something new, but this year felt especially meaningful. I watched families grow, welcomed brand‑new babies, celebrated milestones, and documented love in its many forms. Each gallery was more than a collection of images, it was a chapter in someone’s story.
I’m endlessly grateful to have played a small part in preserving it.
Some sessions challenged me creatively, pushing me to see differently and trust my instincts more. Others felt like coming home. Familiar faces, familiar laughter, and the comfort of knowing we’ve built something lasting together.
Growth Behind the Camera
This year stretched me in ways I didn’t expect. I learned to give myself more grace, to trust my creative voice, and to embrace imperfection. I am not perfect and neither is every lighting situation. I perfected how to handle every lighting situation (well sorta-always learning in the world of photography). I refined my style, leaned into warmth and authenticity, and focused on creating images that feel as much as they show.
I also learned the importance of balance. Of stepping back when needed. Of remembering that rest fuels creativity just as much as inspiration does.
To my clients: thank you for trusting me with your memories. Thank you for inviting me into your lives, your homes, and your most meaningful moments. Your support, whether through kind words, referrals, or simply choosing me — means more than I can ever express.
Looking Ahead
As I look toward the year ahead, I feel hopeful and excited. Excited for new faces, returning families, and stories yet to unfold. Hopeful for continued growth, deeper connections, and creating that feels warm, honest and heartfelt.
Cheers to all the love in between.
